Another former Bafana Bafana international moves to Libya

Former Bafana Bafana international Fagrie Lakay has found a new home in Libya after signing for Al Ahli Tripoli SC.

Lakay was most recently on the books of Egyptian outfit Ceramica Cleopatra FC whom he joined from Pyramids FC.

And he has now joined Thembinkosi Lorch in Libya. Lorch, a former Bafana Bafana international, is on the books of Al-Ittihad Tripoli.

However, he may soon leave the club following the departure of Rulani Mokwena who was instrumental in bringing him to Al-Ittihad.

Al Ahli Tripoli took to their social media platforms on Friday morning to unveil the former Cape Town City attacker.

The Libyan outfit confirmed that the 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal with them, meaning he will be there until June 2028.

LAKAY’S IMPRESSIVE STATS AT CLEOPATRA

Lakay was undoubtedly a key member of the Cleopatra team over the past two seasons he spent there.

He spent his first season on loan from Pyramids before Cleopatra made his stay permanent but he’s again on the move.

Lakay featured 61 times for the Egyptian outfit, scored 12 goals and registered 13 assists, and he will hope to continue with his impressive form.
