A video of Springbok Siya Kolisi jokingly playing a strict big brother at his ster Phelo’s Matric Dance has gone viral on TikTok.
The Springbok captain has two younger siblings, whom he and his former wife, Rachel Kolisi, became legal guardians over after their mother’s death.
SIYA KOLISI JOKES WITH SISTER’S MATRIC DANCE DATE
In a video posted on her TikTok account, Phelo, the sister of Siya Kolisi, shared a look at her Matric Dance that took place earlier this year.
In the clip, Phelo and her date pose for photos alongside her rugby-star sibling.
Siya quickly went into big brother mode, jokingly demanding that Phelo’s date keep a safe distance from her.
She captioned the clip: “My brother said, ‘Not on my watch’”.

On her Instagram account, Phelo posted pics of her “unforgettable” Matric Dance experience, where both Siya and Rachel Kolisi were present.
MOTHER FIGURE
Despite their divorce, Siya Kolisi’s ex-wife, Rachel Kolisi, has taken on a motherly role for his younger siblings, Phelo and Liyema.
The former couple adopted his siblings, who had been placed in foster care in Zwide following their mother’s death, after an 18-month legal process.
At the time, Rachel was just 24 years old and had her own child, a son named Nicholas.
While Liyema has now come of age, Phelo still lives with Rachel and her two children with Siya in their Cape Town family home.
