SASSA beneficiaries still using Gold Cards have eight days left to replace them before they stop working.
Postbank has confirmed that Gold Cards will no longer work after 31 August 2026.
Beneficiaries who have not switched by then will not be able to use the old card to withdraw cash or make purchases.
The deadline does not affect a person’s eligibility for a social grant. It only affects the use of the Gold Card to access the money.

SASSA urges beneficiaries to act
SASSA has urged beneficiaries who have not yet migrated to do so before the deadline.
Replacement sites operate from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Beneficiaries who still rely on their Gold Cards should therefore complete the switch this week to avoid problems accessing their grant money after 31 August.
