Tiger Woods had his driver’s license suspended for five years after striking a plea deal with prosecutors in Martin County, Florida this week.
The plea deal allowed the golf legend to avoid jail time while closing out a driving under the influence (DUI) case dating back to March 2026.
Woods appeared before the Martin County Courthouse in Florida, and changed his plea to no contest on a reduced charge of reckless driving which was his second such offense
The 50-year-old golfer was also charged with refusal to submit to a lawful test.
He had initially pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence with property damage.

TIGER WOODS HAS HIS DRIVER’S LICENSE SUSPENDED
As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped the more serious DUI charge, and Woods was adjudicated guilty on the reckless driving count and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus a $500 fine on the refusal charge.
He was also found guilty of careless driving, a separate moving violation.
Two five-year license suspensions — one tied to the reckless driving charge and one to the careless driving citation — will run concurrently.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID…
Judge Darren Steele told Woods that he would be jailed again should he be found driving, saying it’s for the safety of the public.
“If you were to drive for any reason at all, you would go immediately back to jail,” said Steele.
“There are no exceptions. It is for the safety of the public.”
Woods has 30 days to appeal the ruling.
