AmaZulu striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has issued an apology to the injured Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli.
On Wednesday night, the Buccaneers visited Usuthu in the two teams’ second league matches of the season.
The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Tshepang Moremi opening the scoring for Pirates before Ngwenya equalised for AmaZulu on the stroke of half-time.

Now, in the second half of the same game, in the 53rd minute to be precise, Ngwenya stamped onto Nduli and injured him.
The incident saw Nduli being stretchered off the pitch as he could not continue with the game after that horrific injury.
What’s more painful for Nduli and the rest of the Pirates team is that the 30-year-old midfielder had just returned from a long injury layoff.
The former Stellenbosch FC anchorman had been out since November 2025 with an Achilles tendon injury he suffered against Golden Arrows.

NGWENYA’S APOLOGY TO NDULI
“I’m sorry my brother for what happened,” wrote Ngwenya on his Instagram account.
“I did not do it intentionally. [I] hope you got space in your heart to forgive me. Speedy recovery,” he concluded.
