It’s Beyoncé’s 45th birthday – and what better way to celebrate than with nearly two hours of Queen Bey?
Beyoncé is marking her 45th birthday in true Beyoncé fashion: by giving her fans new music.
Iconic solo album
Twenty years after the release of her iconic second solo album B’Day, the superstar has unveiled a remastered and expanded 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album, packed with unreleased tracks, new collaborations, Spanish-language recordings and upgraded visuals.
Originally released on 4 September 2006 – Beyoncé’s 25th birthday – B’Day was a defining moment in her career.
The album delivered era-defining hits including “Déjà Vu”, “Ring the Alarm”, “Irreplaceable”, “Freakum Dress” and “Get Me Bodied”, establishing Beyoncé not simply as a powerhouse vocalist, but as an artist firmly in control of her creative vision.
Now, two decades later, B’Day has been transformed into a 31-track digital deluxe collection, bringing together the original album with previously unreleased material, remixes and some very unexpected collaborations.
One of the biggest surprises is “Cuerpo (Tumbao) (Get Me Bodied)” featuring Maluma, which gives the familiar “Get Me Bodied” a vibrant Latin makeover.
The track features a sample of the late salsa icon Celia Cruz’s “La Negra Tiene Tumbao” and marks Beyoncé’s first collaboration with Colombian superstar Maluma.
But wait… Beyoncé drops more surprises
Perhaps the most emotional addition is “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)” featuring Selena Quintanilla. The track brings Beyoncé’s Spanish-language version of “Irreplaceable” together with Selena’s beloved “Como La Flor” – a remarkable pairing made possible through approval from Selena’s estate.
Beyoncé has previously spoken about her admiration for Selena and her influence on her own Spanish-language music.
The anniversary collection also opens the vault, featuring tracks including “My First Time”, “Can I Watch You” featuring Pharrell Williams, “Lost Yo Mind”, “Creole” and “Back Up”.
“Morning Dew (Donk)” – which Beyoncé first teased earlier this year – also makes the cut, alongside its recent Jay-Z remix.
And because this is Beyoncé, the nostalgia extends beyond the music.
Previously unseen photographs
The B’Day videos, originally filmed on 35mm, have been remastered, recoloured and finished in 4K, while previously unseen photographs from the New Orleans video shoots have also been unveiled. Watch the videos here.
