R112 million PowerBall winning ticket located – Is it yours?

The winning ticket of last week’s R112 million PowerBall jackpot has been located in Meyerton, Johannesburg.

The small town made headlines last week after a wild lion was found roaming the residential area.

The lion – whose owner remains unknown – was found and transported to a place of safety.

R112 MILLION POWERBALL WINNING TICKET LOCATED

On their social media platforms, Sizekhaya Holdings, the official licencing operation of the National Lottery South Africa, confirmed that the winning ticket of a R112 million PowerBall jackpot had been purchased at OK Foods Meyerton in the Midvaal.

The winning numbers of the lotto are 3, 15,24, 30, 31 and the bonus ball, 7.

“I wish it was mine. It’s a lot of money”, said one shopper.

An Ok Foods staff member jokingly stated, “Can you please marry me, if it’s a man. If it’s a woman, please adopt me?”

A third person added, “Maybe it’s my mother-in-law. Maybe I’d love her a little more”.

The National Lottery operator can identify where a winning ticket was sold, before the winner claims the prize, provided it was purchased through a retailer and the sale was properly recorded on its system. However, it may not know the buyer’s identity before a claim is made.

LION OWNER AND LOTTO WINNER?

Winners have 365 days – from the start of their ticket purchase – to claim their winnings.

According to Sizekhaya Holdings, the licencing operator of the National Lottery, winners have the right to maintain their anonymity under the Data Protection Act.

The PowerBall jackpot winning ticket’s location in Meyerton, comes just days after a wild lion was found wandering the streets of the residential area.

According to reports, Bloufontein Wildlife Park in Meyerton denied that the lion belonged to it and stated that none of its animals had been reported missing.

The lion was captured by authorities and relocated to a safe area. Police are currently investigating the origin and ownership of the animal.
