Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé were in London for a concert on Beyoncé’s 45th birthday on 4 September, and he made sure to mark the day in a big way.
Hidden in the audience, Beyoncé was in relaxation mode, but Jay-Z asked the audience to help him celebrate her birthday, as well as the 20th anniversary of her album B-Day.
“It’s a young lady’s birthday,” started Jay-Z.
The audience went crazy with excitement.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Don’t do that to her. She’s not performing. It’s her birthday. You gonna make her perform on her birthday?” asked Jay-Z.

“She definitely in the building… I just want to acknowledge. First of all, it’s 20-year anniversary of B Day. So she’s somewhere in here. I don’t know where she is, but I just need one thing. The only thing I’m gonna ask you for tonight is if we can all just sing “Happy Birthday” to her just really quickly, just really quickly.
As Jay-Z and the audience started singing, fireworks shot up above the stadium, much to Beyoncé’s delight. Seated with Blue Ivy, family, and friends, she blew kisses and waved to her husband and the audience, but became shy when the spotlight stayed focused on her.
“Happy birthday, BB,” Jay-Z shouted as the fireworks went berserk.
